AIR SOLUTION 2013-bilateral aviation exercise

The topic of the exercise, which is being implemented in the airspace of the Republic of Serbia and Romania for the third time, is "The control and protection of airspace and conduct of operations" the main goal of the exercise being improving the preparedness of units in the process of operational planning and executing security operations airspace of the Republic of Serbia in the region.
Raising the level of coordination and interoperability between the Air Forces of Serbia and Romania is very important in operations providing aviation fire support.
All SAF air force units stationed in Batajnica are participating in one of the most important bilateral air force exercise in 2013.
According to the scenario, on the first day, transport aircraft which took off from the territory of the two countries, were intercepted by fighter planes, which, after identification, landed at the local airport. Then 4 Serbian "Super Galeb G4" SAF air crafts and two Romanian MiG-21 Lancers, which provided protection during the flight to MiG 21 from both sides took off from the territory of Romania..
Today, on the second day of the exercise, combat operations will carry out search and rescue operations, during which, for the first time in history, a Serbian Air Force helicopter MI 17 will fly over the territory of another state, where, with two Romanian helicopters involved in the search and rescue for pilots shot down. At the same time, such an operation on the territory of Serbia, will be performed by two Romanian helicopters "Puma".
The end of the exercise, under the command of the commander of the 204th Aviation Brigade, Brigadier General Predrag Bandic, envisions that, during the return to their respective air bases, once again, a fictional operationn of providing fire support will be performed at the shooting ranges.
Welcoming the Romanian counterparts to Batajnica, commander of the exercise "Air Solution 2013," Brigadier General Predrag Bandic confirmed that the first stage of the activity had been completed successfully.
- Today's deployment on the territory of the two countries is a good introduction for the next day's activities. WE had some 30 aircrafts in the air, with nearly 200 participants in the exercise. This increased number of aircrafts is a proof of friendship between the two countries, the two armies, which show the desire and ability for successful cooperation in regional security.
Representative of the Romanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Aurelian Nita, thanked for warm reception, adding he was happy to be Serbia, and that this exchange of experience is very important for the region, hoping that in years to come it would be intensified.
