Candidates for Admission to Special Forces Take Military Oath

The candidates for admission to SAF Special Forces under Project 5000 who did not perform military service with weapons before applying to the competition have taken a military oath today.
In a ceremony held at the “Field Marshal Živojin Mišić” Barracks in Valjevo, in front of the flag of the Republic of Serbia, they pledged to preserve and defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
The candidates took the oath after passing successfully basic military training, and are now supposed to receive intensive selective training.
Those who come through all the elimination stages successfully will have the opportunity to start their professional military career in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade or Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Cobras”. Their training and advancement will continue in the special force units of the Serbian Armed Forces for the execution of complex and psychophysically demanding tasks, using the best weapons and military equipment.
The ceremony at the Valjevo Barracks was attended by Commander of the Training Command Major General Željko Petrović, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, religious communities and local government, as well as families, relatives and friends of the candidates.
