The Serbian Armed Forces MP units competition "Guardian of Order" officially ended today in Kraljevo with the winners announcement ceremony. It is a qualifying competition for the selection of a team that will represent our country and armed forces at the competition bearing the same name at the International Military Games, which will be organized in Serbia for the first time this year at the end of August and the beginning of September.
Out of twelve teams, Team 1 of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Kobre" was the best, the second place was taken by Team 1 of the Third Military Police Battalion, while the Training Command’s Military Police Squad Team took third place.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff and President of the Organizing Committee of the "Guardian of Order" competition, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković, congratulated all the participants, especially the winners, and pointed out that members of the military police had shown an exceptional level of training and physical fitness at the national competition.
— The military police has always been considered one of the Serbian Armed Forces’ elite units. The results of the competition have confirmed that. Everything we have done so far in preparation for hosting the international competition is investment in the future. We want this competition to become a tradition and to contribute to increasing the capabilities of our military policemen, who are, undoubtedly on a par with their counterparts from the best armed forces in the world — said General Cvetković.
He required absolute commitment during the preparations from the team selected to represent Serbia at the International Military Games.
— The top government officials and the Chief of the General Staff expect you to proudly carry the flag of our country and to be our worthy representatives at the International Military Games. I am convinced you can do it! — said the Deputy Chief of the General Staff.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Milikić, a member of the Organizing Committee, the "Guardian of Order" competition was carried out in four stages, in compliance with the International Military Games rules. The first two stages, "Situational shooting" and "Military police patrol shooting" were carried out at the "Žiča" military complex, while the remaining two stages, "Military Policeman's Trail" and the "Hero Race" were held at the "Beranovac" military complex. It is a comprehensive test of training, skills, concentration and physical fitness, whose last phase is the most demanding.
— The “Hero Race“ is a 12-kilometre race with a total of 30 obstacles. It is a very demanding discipline that requires exceptional physical fitness, skill and, above all, the will to endure till the end — explains Lieutenant Colonel Milikić.
Based on the national competition results, a broader list of national team members will be made, and during the preparations, the list will be reduced down to six competitors that will represent the Serbian Armed Forces and our military police at the International Military Games "Guardian of Order" from 29 August to 5 September in Kraljevo.
