Members of the Serbian Armed Forces handed over gift packages today, 50 books published by the Media Centre "Odbrana", to the Mechanical-Electrical Engineering School in Priboj and the Technical School in Prijepolje.
The books were handed over to the director of the school in Priboj, Tatijana Lučić, and the secretary of the school in Prijepolje, Miro Novosel, by Lieutenant Colonel Nebojša Ristović from the 2nd Army Brigade.
The awarding of books to high schools in Serbia, which has been conducted for several years, is part of the action of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces on the enrichment of school libraries, which also promotes the military vocation.
The proposal of schools to which sets of books will be awarded was given by the Civil-Military Cooperation Department of the General Staff based on the degree of cooperation between municipalities and the Serbian Armed Forces, but also due to the fact that the process of manning the hill-mountain battalion in Priboj has begun, enabling new employment of several hundred young people from Priboj and its surroundings in this newly formed unit of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Those interested in employment in the Serbian Armed Forces as professional soldiers in the newly formed hill-mountain battalion can already apply for a permanent open invitation for the employment of professional soldiers, while the invitation for the employment of civilians will be announced in early July.
