Training of the second class of civilian candidates for the Serbian Armed Forces’ NCOs has officially begun at the NCO Training Center Sergeant Milunka Savić in Pančevo today.
This model of training for initial NCO duties in SAF units was established last year and implemented in four modules which last for nine months. The training activity includes almost two hundred selected candidates who passed the selection phase of the competition announced in April this year.
During the first two modules implemented at the center in Pančevo, participants acquire knowledge necessary to perform basic military roles and develop leadership skills in commanding a squad. After that, they are sent to specialist training centers to be practically trained to handle the branch/service-specific assets.
Future NCOs will spend their last training stage doing internship in SAF units, where they will have the opportunity to perform roles of (deputy) squad commanders putting into action the knowledge they have obtained.
Candidates who successfully complete the nine-month program will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and admitted to professional military service as NCOs of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The ceremony marking the beginning of this training was attended by Commander of the Training Command Major General Zoran Nasković.
