Ceremonies Held on Occasion of Taking Military Oath

Ceremonies on the occasion of taking a military oath have been held at the Serbian Armed Forces barracks “Aerodrom” in Sombor, “Field Marshal Živojin Mišić” in Valjevo and “Field Marshal Petar Bojović” in Leskovac, today.
Cadets of the Military Academy (149th class), Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy (16th class), participants in the September 2024 Reserve Officers Training Course, students of the 52nd class of Professional Military High School “1300 Corporals”, candidates for special force units under Project 5000, soldiers on voluntary military service since September 2024 - have officially pledged to protect and defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, who attended the ceremonies in Sombor and Valjevo, congratulated the young men and women, who have joined the ranks of defenders of the fatherland today, on their oath, telling them not to forget ever that freedom of our Serbia is the greatest value and ideal they are protecting.
Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, who was present at the ceremony in Valjevo, also extended congratulations on taking the oath.
According to the Minister of Defense, the Serbian Armed Forces and all their members will always be a reliable support for our homeland and all its citizens, for better or worse. He added that we were developing operational capabilities and morale, we are training and equipping ourselves to defend Serbia and protect its vital interests and values, wanting and hoping sincerely not to use those capabilities in a real situation.
Minister Gašić has pointed out that the state is determined to continue investing in the most modern weapons and equipment, as well as in improving the social status of our members.
Today’s ceremonies have also been attended by representatives of the organizational units of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces, Ministry of Internal Affairs, local government bodies and religious communities, as well as relatives and friends of the young men and women who have taken the oath.
