Marking the Day of “Moma Stanojlović” Aeronautical Institute

The Day of the Aeronautical Institute “Moma Stanojlović” and 103 years of that institution were ceremoniously marked today at the “Colonel Pilot Milenko Pavlović” Military Airfield in Batajnica.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff, Air Force and Air Defence Command, Brigadier General Aleksandar Bjelić, representatives of the organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, former Air Force and Air Defence commanders, civil organizations representatives with whom the institute cooperates, employed and retired members of the institute and numerous guests .
Addressing the audience, the Director of the institute Colonel Despot Janković recalled the rich history of the institution and the results achieved in the previous period. Among other things, he pointed out that since June 25 the institute holds a certificate for “Gazelle” SA-341 and SA-342 helicopters maintenance, which was presented to them on the first day of the “Partner 2019” Fair by the CEO Airbus Helicopters Bruno Even, in the presence of the Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić.
At today’s ceremony stimulations and praises were presented, and in the institute workshop, where the ceremony was held, aircraft in various stages of maintenance and repairs could be seen.
The Day of the Aeronautical Institute “Moma Stanojlović” is celebrated on July 1 to commemorate a day in 1916 when, upon the order of the Supreme Command Staff, Aeroplan workshop was formed on Micra airport near Thessaloniki.
