Beginning of Training for Youngest Class of Soldiers on Military Service

Soldiers on voluntary military service who joined the ranks of the Serbian Armed Forces in early March have begun with their training officially at the basic training centers in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac today.
Over the past few days, the soldiers have gone through an adaptation period, they have been assigned weapons and equipment, learned of the basic rules of life and work in the Serbian Armed Forces and are now supposed to undergo a period of intensive training.
Over the next five weeks, they will train to handle personal weapons and undertake individual tactical actions and procedures in battle; they will master close-order drills and Rules of Service, improving significantly their physical fitness.
After completing this training phase, the soldiers will continue their military service at the specialist training centers where they will be trained for their military occupational specialties within their branches / services, and then they will undergo a three-month collective training and be involved in the implementation of daily tasks in the SAF units to which they are assigned.
The soldiers interested in joining professional military service have the opportunity to apply while still on their military service, in order to go through the prescribed procedure in a timely manner and meet the requirements to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
