International Basic Course on Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons

In Serbian Armed Forces CBRN Training Centre from 02 to 06 June 2014 is carrying out the Tenth International Basic Course on Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons. The course attend 17 attendees from 14 countries (Bahrain, Brasil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cote D'ivoire, Latvia, Madagascar, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda) signers of the Chemical Weapons Convection.

Realization of this course presents continue of sucessfull cooperation between the Organization for Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the Ministry of Defence of Republic of Serbia in implementation of the Convention.
CBRN Training Center is responsible for realization of the training and instructors from Military Academy, Technical Testing Center, Military Medical Academy and CBR Training Center are engaged in realization the course content. The course is held in English.
At the opening ceremony Training Command Deputy Commander Major General Mladjen Nisevic, CBRN Training Centre commandant Lt. Colonel Ph. D. Ivan Lazarevic and representative of the Technical Secretariat of the OPCW Mr Mark Albon addressed to course participants.
The Course program presents combination of the lectures in area of protection, detection and identification of toxic chemicals, decontamination, implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, training in use of CBRN equipment if field conditions. During the course, attendees will visit cultural and historical inheritage of Krusevac.
