Reception of the Geodetic Service Delegation at the General Staff

The Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Major General Ilija Todorov, spoke today with a Geodetic Service delegation, led by the Deputy Head of the Military Geographical Institute, Colonel Slaviša Tatomirović in Belgrade.
The Geodetic Service of the Serbian Armed Forces is an interbranch expert service intended for planning, organizing and carrying out land measuring, collecting data on the area, producing and publishing geo-topographic materials, and implementing a geo-topographic security system of the Serbian Armed Forces and other defense subjects in peace and war.
The Geodetic Service Day - February 05 is celebrated in memory of the day when, in 1876, Prince Milan Obrenović decided to form the General Staff of the Serbian Army, which consisted of three departments, of which the second department was Geographical Department, intended for the measuring of Serbia for military purposes.
