Continuous Training Imperative for Mechanized Units

Training of the 1st Army Brigade mechanized units in using critical combat systems in combat is under way, leading to excellent professional skills and maintaining high combat readiness to provide fire support on operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
During this period, members of the 17th Mechanized Battalion, 1st Army Brigade, are training at the Bačka Barracks and Brioni Training Ground, the training objective, as stated by Captain 1st Class Aleksandar Čanak, mechanized company commander, being to train and refine the skills of the crews in all terrain and weather conditions.
— After completing the training in the garrison, we carry out scheduled live firing using weapons of the armored units, newly introduced and modernized assets, at firing ranges and training grounds, and as the highlight of the training, we conduct a tactical LIVEX where we put into action all of our experience, knowledge and skills — said Captain 1st Class Čanak, specifying the rate of the training activities.
The training focuses on the use of M-80A IFVs including activities such as preparation for the execution of the task, tactical actions while on the march and during defensive and offensive operations, and maintaining vehicle and weapon subsystems.
Private 1st Class Petar Zlatar, an IVF machine gunner, states that the role he performs is particularly demanding, while the training in the unit is quite diverse and interesting.
