Chief of the National Guard of Cyprus Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas has been in the Republic of Serbia for the past three days at the invitation of Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović.
During the visit, in open and constructive discussions, both sides confirmed their determination to strengthen bilateral military relations and agreed on intensifying cooperation — primarily joint activities of the Army, Air Force and Special Force units.
In addition to visiting the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Tsitsikostas also had a meeting with State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Mile Jelić, and he also visited some military units and production facilities of one of the factories of the Public Company Yugoimport-SDPR.
At the Military Airfield Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica and while visiting the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the Cypriot delegation was shown some capabilities of our Special Forces and modern arms and military equipment used by the Serbian Armed Forces’ units.
This has been a very successful visit and excellent opportunity to improve further the already developed bilateral military cooperation with Cyprus, which aims to build the armed forces’ capabilities and strengthen the ties between our friendly peoples and countries.
