Friday, 20.9.2024 | Culture and traditions
Day of the Signal Brigade and Day of the Telecommunications Service of the Serbian Armed Forces — 20 September — have been solemnly marked in memory of the day when the Military Telegraph Decree was passed in 1916, which laid the foundations for the organization of signals in the Serbian army.
On the occasion of the holiday, military ceremonies were held at the commands and units of the Serbian Armed Forces, where the results of the Service and units were summarized and awards presented to the most distinguished officers, NCOs, professional soldiers and civilians.
In reviewing the achieved results, it has been pointed out that members of the Telecommunications Service have successfully implemented all the assigned tasks making possible for the functioning of telecommunications and IT security in the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces.
Implementation of these tasks and continued modernization of the telecommunications and information system had a positive impact on the operational capabilities of the units, in terms of shortening the time for making decisions and communicating them, ensuring efficient planning and conducting operations of the Serbian Armed Forces and improving command capabilities.
Cherishing the memory of predecessors who laid down their lives for the defense of the motherland, today, on the occasion of the holiday, wreaths have been laid at the memorials of the fallen members of the signal units.
