Training in Off-Road Vehicle Operating in Peacekeeping Operations

Monday, 7.2.2022 | Training
Last week, the Battalion for the Transportation Service in Kraljevo trained personnel of the Serbian Armed Forces for operating off-road motor vehicles in peacekeeping operations.

The goal of the one-week training is to train officers assigned to staff duties in peacekeeping missions for the safe operation of off-road vehicles and to acquire the necessary knowledge for the maintenance of supporting devices and systems.

In the first part of the training, the officers underwent theoretical training and training in driving motor vehicles "Defender" and "Puch" on public roads, after which they conducted the most demanding part of the training on the training ground "Beranovac" near Kraljevo – operating vehicles in off-road conditions.

By overcoming obstacles in the field range, built on the basis of experience from peacekeeping operations, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have acquired the necessary skills to drive vehicles on difficult terrain, which often puts to the test the ability of drivers and technical capabilities of vehicles.

Training in driving off-road motor vehicles is an obligatory part of the comprehensive preparations of members of the Serbian Armed Forces who are deployed in peacekeeping operations as observers, staff officers and drivers, in order to be fully prepared for all tasks that may await them in the area of operation.
