Members of the Serbian Armed Forces from the Command for the Development of the Banat Brigade saved the life of a man seriously injured in a car accident that took place on the Zrenjanin-Kikinda road between Melenci and Bašaid villages.
Major Predrag Mitrović and Private Gabrijel Stan were on assignment when they noticed that the driver of the car behind them had lost control of the vehicle and after the car rolled over several times, it drove off the road. They responded swiftly and pulled out the semi-conscious man with severe head and chest injuries out of the crashed car, took measures to prevent an explosion due to petrol leak and administered first aid to the injured man.
Major Mitrović then called the ambulance, the police and the injured man’s wife; he provided information about the accident to police officers and handed over the injured man’s documents to the Police Department in Kikinda.
According to the Serbian Armed Forces, the injured man was given medical attention at the General Hospital in Kikinda and he is feeling well. He was discharged for home treatment.
The members of the Serbian Armed Forces have shown in this situation, as many times before, that they are trained and ready to help the citizens whenever it is needed.
