Thursday, 23.2.2023 | Training
As part of their routine winter training, this week, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade members have gone through a range of tactical training contents in preparation for conducting special land, water and underwater operations.
In support of training, combat teams of this Brigade’s Special Operations Battalions "Griffins" and "Falcons" landed by AF and AD helicopters on remote locations where they carried out tactical and fire missions they are intended for.
Following special scenarios, Special Forces have worked in unknown snowy and icy terrain for several days refining the scouts’ tactics in encounter battle, surprise raids, diversions, ambushes, air evacuation, and they practiced overcoming water obstacles. There were also a number of scheduled live-fire activities with the use of personal weapons confirming superb firearms skills in these combat teams; part of the unit also practiced undertaking water and underwater combat actions.
This training belongs to a complex training system implemented in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade throughout the year in all terrain, tactical and weather conditions, which makes the soldiers and officers outstandingly skilled, physically and mentally fit and results in high combat-readiness of this elite SAF unit.
