Members of the air defence artillery-missile units, which have been equipped with modern combat systems in the past few years, are trained daily in order to preserve and improve their abilities to defend the Serbian Armed Forces and the territory of the Republic against reconnaissance and aerial operations.
Thus, in a battalion of the 250th AD Missile Brigade, armed with the Pantsir artillery-missile systems, training professional staff is one of the essential tasks, along with being on operational duty in the air defence system.
At peacetime locations, the combat crews practice all the contents related to the preparation and execution of anti-aircraft operations, starting from arming combat vehicles with missiles and artillery ammunition, marching and gun emplacement, to combat work in the phases of preparation and execution of anti-aircraft operations.
In order to achieve the required level of competence and coordination of all crew members and make maximum use of the potential the Pantsir system has, the emphasis is on practicing the procedures in the previous and immediate preparation and execution of electronic firing at real and simulated targets.
The artillery-missile system Pantsir is intended for aerial defence of small-scale military facilities, administrative-political and economic facilities, regions and directions. It can target airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles, UAVs and guided aerial bombs, and, in its support role, it can also engage targets on the ground. Its integration into the air defence system led to the enhancement of the abilities to protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
