Training of gunners and drivers on the armored multi-purpose combat vehicle "Miloš" was performed at the "South" base as part of the preparations of the infantry company from the 1st Army Brigade for deployment in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.
This training segment represents one of the key steps in the preparation of the unit for deployment in the area of operation with operating new vehicles, which from this year the Serbian Armed Forces contingent in the mission in Lebanon will use instead of military police combat vehicles VPB M-86.
Owing to its high mobility, integrated weapons, ballistic and anti-mine protection and modern communication and optoelectronic systems, the "Miloš" vehicle can be used in various tasks, including patrol and reconnaissance missions, as well as support of special units, and in Lebanon it will be used for patrolling, observation and force protection in the field.
Per the training program, gunners and drivers completed the theoretical part and underwent practical training for operating the vehicle in various terrain conditions, practiced tactical maneuvers and performed combat shooting from weapons integrated into the vehicle system.
What follows is the individual training of the infantry company personnel, which includes practicing tactical procedures and adopting operational procedures in accordance with the United Nations standards, followed by collective training of the unit.
By taking part in peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to building and preserving peace in the world and at the same time confirm their professionalism and ability to deploy forces and resources in an international framework. In addition to operational improvement and improvement of interoperability, such missions also contribute to the development of international cooperation and strengthen the reputation of our country.
