Military Helicopters Put out Fire in Municipality of Nova Varoš

Serbian Air Force and Air Defence helicopters have been engaged today in extinguishing a fire on Murtenica Mountain in the municipality of Nova Varoš.
Three Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters are putting out the fire using buckets that can hold 2,000 and 3,500 liters of water, respectively. Helicopters refill their buckets on Zlatar Lake. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are making maximum efforts to put the fire under control.
The Ministry of the Interior’s fire and rescue units are also on the spot, trying to stop the spread of fire together with members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
