Conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres

Peacekeeping Operations Centre became a member of International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres at the Conference held this week in Sarajevo.
By participation of the Chief of the Peacekeeping Operations Centre, Colonel Milivoje Pajovic, in the 22nd Annual Conference of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC), which is being held in Sarajevo from 26 to 30 September, the Peacekeeping Operations Centre became a member of this prestigious association.
As the largest global association of related institutions and initiatives, IAPTC serves as a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas related to training for peacekeeping operations in accordance with the emerging challenges and demands, and at the annual conferences, apart from expert talks regarding the immediate preparations and training for peacekeeping operations, guidelines are provided for the work of the contributing countries but also the recommendations to the UN Organisation, whose representatives actively participate in its work.
This year's conference has gathered 250 delegates from 56 countries and from 125 different institutions, and Egypt accepted organization of the conference in 2017.
In addition to the European Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (EAPTC), whose member the Peacekeeping Operations Centre became in May this year, the IAPTC Conference represents a unique opportunity for the sublimation of experience in training for the participation in peacekeeping operations which, according to the UN doctrinal documents, represents a joint effort of the Member States, the concrete peacekeeping operation and the United Nations.
