Thursday, 24.10.2024 | Training
In the training area and peacetime dispositions, members of the Serbian Armed Forces’ mechanized battalions are being trained to execute combat tasks on Army operations using M-80A infantry fighting vehicles.
This training activity marks the beginning of the winter cycle of training of professional staff in performing assigned missions and tasks, the general goal being to improve further both individual and collective skills, as well as the overall combat readiness of the units.
The program covers all practical contents of training of the crews of fighting vehicles and embarked infantry squads, from preparation for task execution, camouflage, tactical actions on the move and on the battlefield, to the maintenance of all sub-systems and weapons of the combat vehicle.
This is followed by the execution of firing practices at specialized SAF training grounds, then by tactical exercises and live firing in winter conditions, when members of the mechanized battalions will demonstrate their tactical and firearms skills in practice.
Being in charge of maneuvers in SAF operations along with armored units, mechanized battalions conduct training in all conditions throughout the year. This results in the required level of competence of each individual, team efficiency and speed of reaction, which plays a vital role in the rapid introduction of infantry into combat and appropriate fire support and force protection on operation.
