Today, a new generation of soldiers has been admitted to the Serbian Armed Forces’ units for voluntary military service.
Upon arrival at the barracks, they had mandatory examinations, were assigned weapons and equipment and posted to the units where their commanders informed them of the rights, obligations and tasks awaiting them.
At the Basic Training Centers in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, over the next month and a half, soldiers will be trained to handle personal weapons, undertake basic tactical actions and procedures in combat, perform guard duty and raise their physical fitness, after which they will be referred to specialist training.
The soldiers will spend the last three months of their military service in the Serbian Armed Forces’ units undergoing collective training and being actively involved in the implementation of tasks together with the professional component.
Soldiers can apply for admission to professional military service while still performing military service, after which they will go through the prescribed procedure and meet the requirements to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
