General Dikovic speaks with members of Special Forces who returned from the mission

General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of General Staff, received the members of the Serbian Armed Forces after their deployment in a European Union Naval Forces multinational operation – Atalanta.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Slavoljub Janicijevic, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, and Colonel Milivoje Pajovic, Head of the Peacekeeping Operations Centre, who spoke with the peacekeepers about their engagement in the multinational operation, their experience and work. They pointed out that the deployment of the second team from the Special Brigade has been planned in mid-July this year.
The first autonomous vessel protection detachment consisted of twelve ships of the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Major Ivan Tanackovic. He pointed out that the team was excellent and that during the many months of engagement in the mission they demonstrated exceptional professionalism and worthily presented the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia. Major Tanackovic conveyed to the Chief of General Staff that our team worked well with the members of the French Armed Forces.
If we had help from anyone, then it was the French Armed Forces, said the leader of the first autonomous detachment.
The Serbian autonomous vessel protection detachment protected in the period from 1st December to 2nd March this year, ship of the World Food Programme "Caroline scan", carrying food and other humanitarian aid to the residents of Somalia. The main task of the detachment was to protect ships from attacks by pirates while sailing along the coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean.
