Thursday, 7.11.2024 | Training
Serving personnel are currently training intensively to use and maintain self-propelled gun-howitzers 155 mm B-52 M-15 Nora at the locations where the Mixed Artillery Brigade is deployed and at military training grounds in the vicinity of Niš.
This is a regular training activity intended to sustain a high level of skills in providing artillery support to Army units and train professional soldiers for additional duties as crews of this modern combat asset.
In this phase, gun emplacement, timely target detection, use of an automated fire control system and delivery of indirect fire are predominantly practiced in accordance with given standards and norms for effective action. The crews are then supposed to undergo more complex training contents in the field and execute scheduled firing, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their tactical and firearms skills needed to execute specific tasks on combat operations.
Continuous training and tactical drills are instrumental in sustaining high competence and combat readiness of the artillery brigade which significantly improved its ability to provide reliable, precise and powerful fire support to SAF units on operations when the 155 mm Nora gun-howitzer was introduced into operational use.
