Assistance of the Serbian Armed Forces to the Villagers on Pešter
Friday, 25.9.2020 | CIMIC
In accordance with CIMIC plans, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are currently providing assistance to the villagers on Pešter.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces donated books published by the Media Centre “Odbrana” and protective equipment to fight Covid-19 to students of elementary schools “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” in the village of Raždaginja and “Rifat Burdžević Tršo” in the village of Karajukića Bunari, municipality of Sjenica.
They also delivered lectures to students on recognizing unexploded ordnance and what to do in such cases.
Tomorrow, military doctors and medical technicians will carry out the "Military doctor in the village" campaign in the villages of Budjevo and Raždaginja, which aims to provide medical assistance to the inhabitants of remote villages with difficult access to the health care system. As part of the campaign, military medics will perform general medical checks and visit elderly and immobile people.
In their effort to contribute to the improvement of teaching in rural schools in complex conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Serbian Armed Forces will disinfect the premises in rural schools in the forthcoming days.
As part of their third mission, the Serbian Armed Forces have previously provided assistance to the residents of Pešter. Several times, they helped construct roads and waterworks, remove deposited snow, and supply water to the residents of that area, while the "Military doctor in the village" and "Back to village" campaigns, which were carried out in the most remote villages, were always well received.
