New General and Special-Purpose Vehicles for Serbian Armed Forces

In accordance with the Serbian Armed Forces’ Development and Procurement Plan, in addition to weapons and military equipment, units have started to be equipped more intensively with vehicles for different purposes to upgrade the existing capabilities, reduce transportation costs and improve road user safety.
Some of the general and special-purpose vehicles that have been introduced to the Serbian Armed Forces this month have been presented to Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović at the “National Hero Stevica Jovanović” Barracks in Pančevo today.
The newly acquired vehicles are part of the SAF Non-Combat Vehicles Acquisition Model according to different capital projects to be implemented by 2028, the current one being focused on vehicles for the transportation of personnel, high-payload cargo vehicles, as well as special non-combat vehicles.
Today’s tour has been an opportunity to present the purpose and characteristics of cargo semi-trailer tow-trucks, trucks with loading ramps, buses, fire engines, as well as light four-wheelers and tracked vehicles intended for movement in all terrain.
The tour has been attended by Head of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) Major General Srđan Petković, Head of the Operations Directorate (J-3) Major General Tiosav Janković, Head of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Affairs Directorate (J-2) Brigadier General Dragan Arsenijević, Heads of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Office of the Minister of Defense Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović and Head of the Office of the Chief of the General Staff Colonel Slađan Hristov.
