General Diković meets with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee

Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubiša Diković, met with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Czech General Peter Pavel in Belgrade today.

Generals Diković and Pavel discussed the current political and security situation in the region, with a focus in Kosovo and Metohija, and the cooperation of the Serbian Armed Forces with KFOR and the North Atlantic Alliance.
 
General Diković assessed the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO within the Partnership for Peace successful and expressed the belief that today's visit will contribute to further strengthening of mutual trust and mutual understanding.

Stressing that NATO fully understands and respects our commitment to military neutrality, General Pavel said that it is a common interest that we have stable and prosperous countries in the region that share European values.
 
Yesterday, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee met with Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, and after today's meeting with General Diković, he gave a lecture to the participants in the Advanced Security and Defence Studies and General Staff Course and visited the Simulation Training Centre.


General Petar Pavel paid a visit to the Republic of Serbia in October 2012 as Chief of Staff of the Czech Republic and in March 2016 as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.
