Monday, 14.3.2022 | Training
At the “Knjaz Mihailo” Barracks Dog Training Center in Niš, military working dogs and dog handlers have been on their weeks’ training in order to be engaged within the guard duties.
This training is intended for the Serbian Armed Forces professional members to acquire skills for the positions of the units’ dog handlers or regular re-training of dogs within the guard duties. After completing the training, the military working dogs and their handlers are to be posted to SAF units and tasked with securing military facilities and property.
According to the training program, the handlers are to execute general training with the military working dogs, such as overcoming obstacles and securing facilities in both daytime and nighttime conditions, focusing on discipline-practice to build mutual trust and ensure the handler’s full and efficient control of the dog in task execution.
Such training is conducted at the Dog Training Centre over the whole year, successfully developing dog handlers and military working dogs for efficient protection and securing of SAF facilities and mobile property, knowing that trained guard dogs are capable of timely threat detection and covering their presence before they execute the task with the minimum use of force.
