At the Military Airfield Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica and on the outskirts of Belgrade, members of the 138th Transport Squadron are conducting regular flight training with new CASA C-295 aircraft.
The aim of the training activity is to sustain a high level of skills of the crews in carrying out specific tasks of transporting and disembarking people and cargo, as well as conducting medical transportation.
The technical component of this unit from the 204th Air Force Brigade is actively involved in the training process, their skills being highly important for proper functioning of the aircraft and their availability for flying.
According to the training plan, flight tasks are performed in favorable and complex meteorological conditions, day and night. Previously, test pilots have been successfully trained; so, in addition to the crews that are engaged in specific tasks, the unit has also the crews fully trained to perform test flights.
Modern CASA C-295 aircraft are intended to transport people and cargo, VIP and to conduct medical transportation; their introduction into operational use in the Serbian Armed Forces significantly improved the capabilities of our Air Force for transportation and deployment of units and mobile assets to the AO.
