Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Major General Petar Cvetković, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, handed over today keys of apartments to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the Belgrade-based Central Military Club.
After the key-allocating ceremony, Minister Vulin pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces in our country is an institution that everybody can rely on and that showed how much it takes care of its country and its people.
- Likewise, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić take care of the Armed Forces including each of its members. Today's distribution of flats is a continuation of care for people. The Serbian Armed Forces is composed of trained and motivated people and they must be satisfied members as well – Minister Vulin emphasised.
According to him, anyone who ties their fate to the Serbian Armed Forces and the security sector in general can count on the fact that the state will take care of them.
- Anyone who joins the Serbian Armed Forces should know that we are going to take care of them, from their schooling, job position, solving housing issue, medical treatment and even accommodation in their old age. Every member of the Serbian Armed Forces as well as members of their families should know that. The system that was deliberately and systematically destroyed is the system that we are going to re-establish, the system that takes care of a man in the first place – Minister Vulin said.
The Serbian Armed Forces, as defence minister concluded, in all these difficult days behind us, showed that it is capable of providing peace, ensuring order, preserving our way of life and being a deterrent for anyone who might think that they can solve any issues with Serbia using force.
Among those who received keys of flats today there is Sergeant Major Dejan Stamenković from Niš, employed at the Niš military airport.
- It is after 30 years that I got an apartment where I will live with my family. The apartment is structured as two-bedroom one, it is well arranged and I am very satisfied – Stamenković said.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Milan Ivičić from Leskovac is another one who has solved his housing issue today, after two decades of waiting. He has also been allocated a two-bedroom apartment in Niš.
- I have been without an apartment ever since 1999, and more importantly, after exactly 50 years, I am returning to my home town – Ivičić emphasized, adding that he is satisfied both with the apartment and its location.
Dragana Vasiljević, a civilian employed at Lađevci airport, is leaving with the keys of her apartment for Kraljevo, today.
- On this day I have solved a great thing in my life – the housing issue for me and my family. I am very pleased and I would also like to thank the minister of defence and the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces – she emphasized, adding that she had been waiting for the flat for more than three decades.
