Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the General Staff General Milan Mojsilović have attended the final activities of the Trial Joint Live-Fire Tactical Exercise “Fire Strike 2024” at Pasuljanske Livade Training Ground today.
The general goal of the two-week exercise was to improve the ability to collect and distribute intelligence data and the effectiveness of fire support on the modern battlefield with the use of unmanned aircraft, and check the functioning of the organization and units of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Evaluating the exercise as “very good”, the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces has stated that he is extremely proud of everything shown today, emphasizing that much of it has been performed for the first time.
— Today, we could see for the first time the operation of the Mosquito 2 and SM-1 drones, then the delivery of ammunition by Little Miloš. We saw exceptional hits from the PASARS and Kornet systems, they hit enemy tanks with incredible accuracy. You saw the action of Eagle planes and helicopters, and the snipers and special force members were exceptional. I congratulate everyone who participated in this exercise — said the President of Serbia, adding that a lot more would have to be done, made, and bought, and stressing that he expected to have the first 1000 Mosquitoes of our production by September.
President Vučić has expressed his gratitude to the members of the Hungarian Defence Forces who have attended today’s exercise, adding that Serbia has an increasingly close cooperation with our northern neighbor. He has expressed his belief that the bilateral cooperation between the two armed forces will be even closer, without joining any alliances.
The Army, Air Force and Air Defence, special operations and EW units, as well as members of the Military Technical Institute have participated in the exercise.
The employed assets included tanks, armored fighting vehicles, artillery systems and weapons, anti-tank weapons, radar and air defence systems, airplanes, helicopters, ground and aerial unmanned platforms, as well as systems for the protection and jamming of unmanned aircraft.
According to the results and observations from the two-week exercise, doctrinal limitations and needs to develop new tactical principles will be determined, possibilities of protection and defense against aerial attacks and simultaneous engagement of various unmanned aircraft will be checked, and the needs to develop new software and hardware solutions will be identified.
