Members of the Serbian Armed Forces achieved notable results at the 37th Belgrade Marathon held yesterday.
Captain 1st Class Nevena Jovanović from the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Cobras” celebrated after the women’s 10,000m race, running the competitors’ route in 37 minutes and 24 seconds.
In the men’s relay half-marathon, where more than 200 teams competed, paratroopers of the 63rd Parachute Brigade won first place, ahead of the team from the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Cobras”, which took second place. The “Cobras” team was first in the combined relay category (men and women).
A remarkable performance of the Serbian Armed Forces members at the most-visited sports competition is a continuation of good results they usually score at domestic and international sporting events. Their success results from great attention paid to physical fitness training in the Serbian Armed Forces, aiming to create fighters who are physically fitter and able to put up with strain and difficulties during the execution of tasks more easily.
