Battle Actions of T-72MS Tanks at the

Members of the Army Battalion equipped with the newly introduced T-72MS tanks are conducting tactical exercises and exercises with live fire at the "Pešter" and "Pasuljanske livade" training grounds, within the joint exercise "Lightning Strike 2021".
During the training activities, tank crews improve tactics, actions and procedures in performing battle actions in attack and defence, independently and in interaction with other units of the Serbian Armed Forces, with shooting from the main gun and 7.62 and 12.7 millimeters machine guns. By participating in the exercise, the members of the unit gain valuable experience in performing the most complex tasks of tank units, but also confidence in the reliability and power of the new combat equipment.
Since the introduction of T-72MS tanks in the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces, members of the unit have undergone intensive training, and as they are excellent tankers, they have mastered the knowledge and skills in handling a new tank in a short time, as shown in this exercise. The excellent results of the shooting speak best about the degree of their training and the firepower of the T-72MS tanks.
Equipping the Serbian Armed Forces with T-72MS tanks is the result of military-technical cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, and their introduction into operational use has generally improved the capacities and operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces. The tank is armed with a 125 mm caliber main gun with a combat set of 42 projectiles, a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun with a 2000 bullet combat set and a 12.7 mm KORD machine gun with a 600 bullet combat set.
"Lightning Strike 2021" joint tactical exercise with live fire is conducted by units of the Army in cooperation with the Air Force and Air Defence, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade, at eight locations throughout the Republic of Serbia.
