on the Occasion of 04 December - Military Veterans' Day

I would like to extend my sincere greetings to all military veterans on the occasion of 04 December - Military Veterans’ Day.

By following the tradition of old warriors of the Serbian army, which is more than a century long, we pay tribute to all members of the Armed Forces who fought for a free and independent state and laid down their lives for our Serbia.

All historical moments from our past continue to live through memory of the years and Day of Military Veterans. We achieved victory, and there is no turning back. Heroic deeds were what spurred our soldier, and NCO and officer, and Armed Forces and citizens of Serbia. And today, we have the same aspirations, to complete successfully all our undertakings, to have our Armed Forces and the state striding to the future heads held high.

I believe that our children and future generations will enjoy freedom, not forgetting the ones worthy of remembrance, whose names are deeply engraved on the foundation and pillar of defense of our fatherland. I expect that experience from the past could help, and that we will be united, proudly preserving, as we always did, the memory of meritorious people from our past – our military veterans. I expect that we will believe in man, and believe in and strive for a better future.

Military veterans, I congratulate you on your holiday, certain that members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces will always be ready to respond professionally to numerous challenges, and that we will be taking firm and solid steps towards an economic progress and a better tomorrow, preserving the integrity of Serbia and identity of the Serbian Armed Forces.
