The winner of the "Best Warrior" Competition, organized by the Ohio National Guard and held in the USA last week, was the 72nd Special Operations Brigade’s member, Sergeant 1st Class Ivan Jeremić.
Competitors at this regional competition, which was a test of physical fitness and military competences and skills, held at "James A. Garfield" Base, Ravenna, were the best soldiers from the American states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio, as well as representatives of Hungary and Serbia.
For five tiresome days, they had competed in 12 arduous disciplines, which entailed, among other things, knowing the weapons, shooting under stress and at a specialized range, water survival, ruck march, artillery fire direction and first aid.
Winning 1st place in a tight contest and doing so with weapons and military equipment used by the U.S. Armed Forces, Sergeant Jeremić has shown that SAF members possess supreme military qualities and that they are outstanding professionals performing their tasks with persistence, discipline and commitment.
This was the first time that SAF members participated in the U.S. "Best Warrior" Competition. There are a number of activities, this one being only one of them, executed by the Serbian Armed Forces and Ohio National Guard under the State Partnership Program. The aim is to raise operational capabilities and reach the armed forces’ interoperability, strengthen confidence and develop the overall Serbian-U.S. relations.
