Joint Tactical Exercise “Whirlwind 2024”

On the basis of a directive by Supreme Commander the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, early this morning, the execution of a multi-level joint live-fire tactical exercise “Whirlwind 2024” has begun on the land, in the airspace and on the inland waterways of the Republic of Serbia.
The exercise lasts until 21 April and it will be one of the largest and most comprehensive exercises that the Serbian Armed Forces have ever conducted in terms of number and diversity of combat forces engaged.
The operational capacities of the Army and Air Force components of our Armed Forces are participating in the exercise with the aim of improving further the commands’ and units’ skills and abilities to prepare and execute combat operations, organize interoperability, cooperation and force protection, as well as control of the territory and logistics support to forces in the Area of Operation.
In accordance with the scenario tailored to the conditions that could be expected in a real situation, the commands and units are to carry out a variety of tactical and firearms missions concerning the planning and execution of crisis response operations.
Joint combined arms tactical exercises, including, if necessary, other forces of the defense system as well, are an irreplaceable form of training in the Serbian Armed Forces. Their execution allows for commands and units to achieve a high level of competence to perform tasks in interoperability, which is of utmost importance for the overall combat readiness of the Serbian Armed Forces.
