Visit to SAF members in Zaječar

As part of his planned tour of the Serbian Armed Forces units, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited today Army and Training Command units in Nikola Pašić Barracks in Zaječar. 

On that occasion, he spoke with members of the Timok Brigade and the 31st Infantry Battalion of the Third Army Brigade about the living and working conditions and the tasks that await them in the coming period.

In his conversation with members of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Minister of Defense emphasized that he was satisfied that they had professionally and responsibly implemented all the tasks set before them and added that it was very important that he had the opportunity to personally discuss the challenges they face with them.

— It is important for you to know that the state of Serbia is always there for you and that thanks to the support of the state leadership and investments in weapons and military equipment, our army is constantly growing stronger. Without a doubt, this will continue to be the case in the coming years. Your contribution to improving capabilities is immeasurable and I express my great gratitude to you for that — said Minister Gašić and expressed his belief that they will continue to respond to all challenges with their professional work in the future and emphasized that the state will continue to take care of improving their standard.

As part of today's visit to the Zaječar barracks, the Minister of Defense toured the accommodation facilities, as well as the tactical and technical assembly, where the "Lazar 3" armored combat vehicles, MRAP, "Humvee", then the "Cornet" anti-tank systems, small arms, unmanned aerial vehicles and other assets were displayed. The Commander of the Third Army Brigade, Colonel Vladan Milosavljević, and the Commander of the Timok Brigade, Colonel Saša Todorov, informed Minister Gašić about the situation in the units.

The tour was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Army, Major General Zoran Dragićević, Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Nebojša Cvetković, Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and Head of the Training and Doctrine Directorate (J-7) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić.
