The soldiers who started voluntary military service in early December last year are undergoing basic training at the Serbian Armed Forces’ Training Centers in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.

This is the first training phase which lasts a month and a half, and is identical for all soldiers regardless of their specialties. During this time, soldiers learn how to use personal weapons, undertake properly offensive and defensive tactical actions and perform internal duty roles.

Special attention is paid to tactical and firearms training at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training grounds so that the soldiers could acquire knowledge and abilities to perform basic defensive and offensive combat tasks and adapt to living and working in field conditions.

Further on during their military service they will have their individual skills tested, after which they will be transferred to specialist training centers where they will train to use branch/service-specific arms and military equipment.

Although they have been in the army for a few weeks only, these young soldiers show exceptional commitment and high motivation to master all contents stipulated in the training program. Many of them have already expressed their willingness to become professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which they can apply while still performing their military service.
