Training of professional personnel with the GM-400 long-range surveillance radar, which has recently been introduced to the Serbian Armed Forces, is underway in the 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade.

This is a modern radar system produced by the French manufacturer Thales, which, thanks to advanced software solutions, provides an excellent picture of the situation in the airspace, with minimum maintenance and a high level of operational availability. The model acquired by the Republic of Serbia is currently considered the best long-range radar in the world, and our country is the first foreign buyer of this improved version.

The radar has the ability to detect and track a wide range of targets at short and long distances simultaneously, from airplanes and helicopters flying at different altitudes, to low-flying objects with little radar reflection, such as tactical UAVs or cruise missiles.

Training is carried out at the radar position and includes theoretical content on the principles of radar technology and practical work with the system, and is carried out with the aim of training platoon and squad commanders, radar technicians and other specialists in the use and basic maintenance of radars.

The introduction of modern radars from the GM-400 (Ground Master) family into the operational use in the ASEWG units has significantly improved the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces to implement the tasks of controlling and protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
