Competition of Serbian Armed Forces Motor Vehicle Drivers

Ceremony of presenting awards and diplomas to the best individuals and teams has concluded today the 3rd competition of drivers of motor vehicles of the Serbian Armed Forces, that was held in the “Ribnica” barracks and at the “Beranovac” driver training ground in Kraljevo, from 22 to 24 April, organised by the Transportation Service Training Battalion of the Logistics Training Centre.
The diplomas and awards to the best participants in the competition were presented by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković.
The aim of the competition was to observe the qualifications of drivers for performing specific tasks, developing competitive spirit in units of the Serbian Armed Forces and selecting a team that will take part in the "2nd International Driver Competition" scheduled for September this year on the same track.
The competition was conducted in two competition categories. In the first group, competitors showed their driving skills on FAP 1118 BS/AV motor vehicle, and in the second group on LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 motor vehicle.
On the first day, the contestants were solving the test of knowledge of traffic regulations, and on the second day they competed in practical activities at the “Beranovac” driver training ground.
In the category of FAP 1118 BS/AV towing and transport all-terrain vehicles, the best results were achieved by: Private First Class Dejan Đurđević of the Training Command – the first place, Private Dragan Rašković of the Training Command – the second place and Private Stefan Zgonjanin from the Intelligence and Reconnaisance Department (J-2) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff – the third place.
The first place in the category LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 personnel transport all-terrain vehicle was won by Private First Class Danijel Dobrić of the Training Command, the second place by Slobodan Milašinović of the Training Command and the third place by Sergeant First Class Dimitrije Živaljević of the Guard.
The best team placement was taken by teams of the Training Command, the Army and the Guard.
In the framework of preparations for the participation in the “International Driver Competition”, this competition was monitored by representatives of armed forces of the Russian Federation, Hungary, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who participate in the work of the First Planning Conference of the 2nd International Driver Competition.
