Marking the Anniversary of Suffering

There has been a commemoration gathering today in the village of Reljan, Preševo Municipality, on the occasion of marking the anniversary of suffering of the Yugoslav Armed Forces members in the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia.
Together with families and relatives of the perished soldiers and officers, representatives of the local government, Ministry of the Interior and veterans' associations, the Serbian Armed Forces delegation, headed by Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, laid wreaths at the memorial to the fallen members of the unit, who lost their lives on 15 April 1999.
While defending their fatherland against the far more powerful enemy, members of the Howitzer-Artillery Battalion, 78th Motorized Brigade, were killed by actions of NATO aviation in the village of Reljan, in 1999. Those members were: Major Ljubisav Stojanović, Captain Dragan Lukić, Staff Sergeant Željko Alar, Lance Corporal Dimče Stamenov, reserve soldiers Aleksandar Popović and Ninoslav Milenkov and soldier on military service Slobodan Mirković.
