The multinational exercise “Platinum Lion 18” in which a firing squad from the 31st infantry battalion of the Third Army Brigade participates, began at the “Novo Selo” range in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Our members are part of the infantry company together with the members of the armed forces of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova and the United States, with whom they will perform a live fire exercise. The aim of the exercise is to improve the interoperability and mutual understanding among members of the armies of partner countries at the tactical level, during the execution of in defence, offence and stabilisation operations in a multinational environment.
 
The exercise gathered more than 600 participants, members of the armed forces of Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, the United States, Montenegro and Serbia and will last until 9th August.
 
The Serbian Armed Forces has participated in the exercises in the Republic of Bulgaria, organized by the Black Sea Rotational Forces of the US Marine Corps for Europe and Africa, since 2012. The “Platinum” exercises are held since 2014 in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia where the “Lion” exercises are held in the Republic of Bulgaria, “Eagle” in the Republic of Romania and the “Wolf” in the Republic of Serbia. Since 2016, exercises held in Serbia are implemented in cooperation with the Ohio National Guard.
