The Day of the Geodetic Service and the Military Geographical Institute

The Day of the Geodetic service and the Military Geographical Institute were marked today in Military Geographical Institute (MGI) in Belgrade.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, active and retired members of the geodetic service and the MGI, and numerous guests from scientific and educational institutions with which the Institute cooperates attended the ceremony.
The Deputy Commander, Joint Operations Command, Major General Ilija Todorov greeted the attendees on behalf of the Chief of the General Staff and congratulated the day of the service. He pointed out that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are proud of the Institute, with which we are surely moving forward when it comes to the geotopographic support.
Speaking about the most important results of the Institute in 2018, the Deputy Head of the Military Geographical Institute Colonel Slaviša Tatomirović, PhD pointed out that the previous year will be remembered for the re-accreditation of the MGI as a research and development institute for the period 2018 through 2022.
At the end of the ceremony, Colonel Tatomirović presented awards to the individuals and institutions with which the MGI cooperates and a Plaque of the Institute to Major General Ilija Todorov.
