Training of Soldiers on Self-Propelled Howitzers 155 mm
Monday, 13.11.2023 | Training
The training of professional soldiers who have recently been assigned to duty in the Mixed Artillery Brigade is underway on the 155 mm B-52 M15 "Nora" self-propelled howitzers in the area of the peacetime location in Niš.
This is professional-specialist training, during which soldiers, in accordance with their duties, are trained for timely detection and spotting of targets, calculation of elements for shooting and direct handling of the weapon itself.
The focus is on the actions and procedures when occupying the firing position and executing indirect fire, which is applied when there is no optical visibility of the target.
The "Nora" self-propelled howitzer provides fire support with strong, sudden and rapid fire on targets of tactical, operational and strategic importance. The entire process from spotting the target to opening fire takes 1-2 minutes, so for a successful fire action, the training of the staff at the highest level is imperative.
This is achieved through continuous training, which is carried out in the unit all year round, in all conditions — from individual training of each individual, through training for collective tasks to the most complex exercises and live fire.
With the introduction of this modern combat system in the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces, the capabilities of the Mixed Artillery Brigade and the artillery as a whole to provide reliable, precise and powerful fire support to the Army units in the execution of operations are significantly improved.
