Special military ceremonies were held today in the Serbian Armed Forces’ barracks in Novi Sad and Sombor on the occasion of the Day of the First Army Brigade and the Day of the First Training Center.
The members of the First Brigade celebrated their holiday in the Novi Sad barracks "Jugovićevo" in commemoration of the day when, on November 9, 1918, the Serbian military liberated Novi Sad.
As part of the ceremony, in front of the line of the brigade members, awards were presented to the best individuals and subordinated units, and key achievements in building operational and functional capabilities were highlighted.
Summarizing the results achieved in the previous period, it was pointed out that the First Brigade successfully implemented the assigned tasks in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces and significantly improved its capabilities and combat readiness.
At the "Aerodrom" barracks in Sombor, the unit's day was marked by members of the First Training Center in commemoration of November 13, 2006, when the Center was formed and when, in 1918, a detachment of the Military of the Kingdom of Serbia entered Sombor.
At the ceremony held on that occasion, awards were presented to the best individuals and it was pointed out that in the past year the Center successfully implemented the training of soldiers, cadets, students and reserve personnel, thereby contributing to improving the skills of the Serbian Armed Forces personnel.
