Tactical Exercise of the 246th CBRN Battalion

In the region of the Rtanj mountain, the 246th Battalion of CBRN is carrying out intensive training activities in the implementation of anti-nuclear-chemical-biological security measures in conducting operation.
This is one of the segments of the Joint Tactical Exercise with live fire "Lightning Strike 2021", which is conducted at several locations throughout the Republic of Serbia.
During the exercise, members of the 246th CBRN Battalion carry out a wide range of tasks of chemical-biological-radiological and nuclear security of Army units. The work of the CBRN observation and laboratory station, decontamination of motor and towing vehicles, weapons and personnel, as well as the work of staff officers in the battalion command are practiced and tested.
The CBRN observation station, the managing body in the nuclear-chemical-biological control network, collects and analyzes available data on enemy action, while the laboratory station collects and processes samples to plan the further course of the operation. Decontamination is conducted using the newly introduced decontamination platform M-09, which has proven to be extremely effective in the implementation of this type of task.
It is assessed that the exercise is being successfully implemented and that the members of the unit show excellent training with high commitment and motivation for the implementation of assigned tasks.
