By equipping the Air Force and Air Defense with the new FK-3 anti-aircraft missile system, the system of control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia has been significantly improved. This missile shield of the Serbian sky, with great maneuverability, consists of a vehicle with a command center, rocket launchers and radars, as well as logistics vehicles.

In the battalion of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade armed with the FK-3 system, training is carried out daily, including monitoring and evaluating the crews’ work, which ensures high combat readiness of the unit for air defense of important facilities, Serbian Armed Forces’ units, areas and directions in the territory from reconnaissance and aerial attacks.

Commander of the Missile Battery Captain 1st Class Stefan Manić has pointed out that the FK-3 represents a turning point in the field of air defense systems.

— The system has exceptional anti-jamming potential and potential for countering missiles intended to destroy tracking radars. The anti-aircraft missile system FK-3 is characterized by exceptional maneuverability and space capabilities and, as such, is dominant among missile systems of newer generations. It is equipped with sophisticated technologies. In addition to excellent maneuverability and space capabilities, the system has exceptional firepower, because it can engage six targets with 12 missiles at the same time - said Captain Manić.

He has emphasized that it is a great honor to be commander of an air defense missile battery and work with the most powerful air defense missile system that our country has. He has also added that training with the missile system took place in the People’s Republic of China and that the training process was rather complex.

— Despite the challenges, all unit members were highly motivated and mastered all training forms in order to be independent in the maintenance and use of the missile system — added Captain Manić.
