The ceremony where 102 Course participants were promoted to the first NCO rank has been attended by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, along with members of his collegium, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Mile Jelić and families and friends of the latest class of sergeants of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Congratulating the sergeants on their first NCO ranks, General Mojsilović has pointed out that today is a very important day for the Serbian Armed Forces because it receives a new class of NCOs who have shown readiness, moral strength and are trained to serve their country in a new role.
— I expect you to continue with the same quality in your work in the coming period, and I especially demand that care for the lives and health of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as your personal contribution to preserving the built cohesion of the military collectives, be a priority - said, among other things, the Chief General Staff adding that, thanks to continuous, stable, goal-directed at the strategic level, equipping and developing weapons, we could proudly say today that we have efficient and rationally organized Armed Forces.
After reading the promotion order, the Chief of the General Staff presented awards to the first, second and third best — Sgt Nikola Đurđević, Sgt Mladen Drašković and Sgt Danilo Lukić.
Addressing the audience on behalf of participants of the 24th Basic NCO Course, Sgt Nikola Đurđević, the best in the rank, has pointed out that the new path he and his colleagues have chosen is a path on which they are not only responsible for themselves, but also for others, to lead people, to take care of them and to return them to their families from every task.
The Basic NCO Course is one of the models of SAF NCO training which lasts six months. It is attended by selected professional soldiers who have previously completed the Leadership Course and who have earned the opportunity to become non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces through their work and results while performing military roles in their units.
During 26-week advancement, they undergo basic and specialist training, as well as internships in units of the Serbian Armed Forces and are trained to command a group, team and a squad.
