Soldiers on voluntary military service of the September 2024 intake, assigned to the 3rd Training Center, have carried out a stationary camp at the “Međa” Training Ground near Leskovac this week.
This form of field training is implemented at the end of the first training phase and is done by soldiers of all specialties. The goal is to check and put into action the acquired knowledge and abilities to perform basic defensive and offensive combat tasks, but also for the soldiers to adapt to living and working in field conditions.
The focus was on continuous practice of tactics and procedures on the battlefield, primarily in the field of navigation, observation, camouflage and movement in the field, as well as on the execution of live firing using infantry weapons.
Commander of Training Battalion, 3rd Training Center, Major Milan Ranđelović, explained the importance of individual basic training.
— The goal of basic training is to create a self-confident, disciplined and skillful soldier, well-motivated, physically fit and trained, said Major Ranđelović.
He mentioned that the camp was intended for covering more complex training contents, the execution of which was not possible at a peacetime location.
Soldier Andrija Jovanović from Valjevo points out that all young people should perform military service.
— Stationary camp of soldiers on voluntary military service at the 3rd Training Center makes every soldier feel worthy of their ancestors, that is the feeling of getting out of the comfort zone and testing personal boundaries.
On this occasion, I invite all young people to apply for voluntary military service in the Serbian Armed Forces - said soldier Jovanović.
Upon returning from the field, the soldiers are supposed to undergo a skills assessment to show how able they are to perform individual tasks, after which they will be sent to specialist training centers to train for the positions they were recruited for.
