Training of Artillery Soldiers
Wednesday, 21.6.2023 | Training
Soldiers of the ‘March 2023’ class who are serving the second part of their military service in the Mixed Artillery Brigade are intensively trained for conducting collective tasks.
They are assigned to the gun and howitzer battalion and receive combat training in the use of towed 152 mm M-84 "Nora" gun howitzers, which are used to provide fire support to the forces in the operation.
In this unit, soldiers undergo tactical and fire training and improve their knowledge of artillery means and equipment. The emphasis in this phase is on tactics and the execution of practical actions, from reconnaissance and possession of the firing position, through the preparation and calculation of the elements for action to the work of services after giving the firing command.
In the future, the young artillerymen are expected to have more complex training content in the field and program shooting, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to perform duties as part of the howitzer service and become confident of the fire capabilities of this combat vehicle.
Soldiers were assigned to the Mixed Artillery Brigade, based on the specialty for which they were recruited, after successfully completing individual training at the training centers of the Training Command. Many of them will start working in this unit as professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which they can already apply.
